Unit Overview
The Division of Urology at Cooper University Hospital is an expanding program with 11 surgeons who function in a team-based atmosphere. The Division of Urology is committed to the recruitment of a diverse group of physicians and all candidates, regardless of race, gender, color, or creed are encouraged to apply for this position. There are opportunities for investigator-initiated research as well as basic and translational collaboration with scientists in the department of surgery.
Cooper University Hospital, the clinical campus of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, is the leading provider of health services to Southern New Jersey. Cooper’s main hospital is located in Camden, NJ, right across the river from Philadelphia. Cooper also has satellite offices in the surrounding suburbs, including Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Voorhees, and Washington Township with a surgery center based in Voorhees.
Short Description
The Department of Surgery at Cooper University Hospital is seeking to hire a full-time urologist who has completed an accredited residency in Urology and whose primary focus is on the evaluation and management of common urologic conditions (general urology). The successful candidate must hold an MD degree and be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Urology. The position will be filled in a rank and series commensurate with experience. The candidate will work in the outpatient clinic setting performing patient evaluation and office-based procedures. Operating room privileges will be granted for surgical procedures based upon the candidate’s experience
Education Requirements
The candidate must have recognized skills in the education of trainees, including but not limited to, Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows.
Must have completed an accredited residency in Urology.
Experience Required
The ideal candidate must be experienced in general urology conditions with a special emphasis to include:
- Benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH)
- Urinary stone disease
- Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)
An exemplary track record of patient care and an active interest in clinical research or education is preferred. There are opportunities for investigator-initiated research as well as basic and translational collaboration with scientists in the department of surgery. The candidate must have recognized skills in the education of trainees, including but not limited to, Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows. All candidates must have or be able to obtain a New Jersey medical license. Applicants must meet all required qualifications by time of hire.
License/ Certification Requirements
All candidates must have or be able to obtain a New Jersey medical license prior to start date.
The New Jersey Pay Transparency Act requires disclosure of the pay range for this position.
