What Are Team Resource Groups?
A Team Resource Group (TRG), or Employee Resource Group, is a voluntary, employee-led initiative in belonging that is formally supported by the organization.
Each TRG is open to all team members.
Each TRG is a group of employees that:
- Fosters and builds community.
- Provides personal and professional support to its members.
- Supports organizational and business goals.
- Shares certain things in common such as identities, interests, or backgrounds.
TRGs are a functional, strategic tool for advancing Cooper initiatives, including recruitment and retention. The objective is to celebrate, bring together and highlight employees from all different backgrounds and enable allies along the way.
How Our TRGs Benefit Our Team Members
TRGs play a vital role in our strategy to support various groups in our organization, creating an avenue for allies to join in the journey. And, they demonstrate that the organization is serious about respecting all team members. TRGs are meant to:
- Foster acceptance and a sense of community.
- Foster a safe place for interaction with their peers.
- Provide more opportunity for engagement with the community.
- Provide equal opportunities for career advancement.
- Foster community and sense of belonging.
- Enhance employee experience in the workplace.
