Short Description
This role is designed to give current nursing students (traditionally between junior and senior semesters) the opportunity for real world acute care hospital experience focusing on Patient care, service excellence and partnering with a Registered Nurse with high quality outcomes and extraordinary care.
- Administers nursing care under the direction of the Professional Registered Nurse.
- Acclimates to an academic medical center
- Participates in nursing interventions previously learned/demonstrated as part of the nursing school curriculum.
- Learn the role of the professional nurse and the collaboration and integration of technology and interprofessional teamwork.
- Interact and learn from unit leadership while making connections to lead to a professional role.
Education Requirements
- Undergraduate Students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Must be entering their Senior year) and completed at least one full clinical rotation in the acute care setting.
- Minimum cumulative GPA 3.3
License/Certification Requirements
- American Heart Association BLS
Special Requirements
- One Letter of Recommendation (Faculty or Professional) required, two preferred
- Ability to work 36 hours per week during the duration of the externship with no planned time-off
The New Jersey Pay Transparency Act requires disclosure of the pay range for this position.
A salary offer will vary based on the job role, candidate experience, qualifications, internal pay equity and market data.
