Short Description
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the entire initial credentialing and privileging process and reappointment process for all new medical staff and allied health professional applicants to ensure the highest quality patient care at Cooper University Health Care.
The Specialist will also be responsible for designated managed care audit coordination.
The position collaborates with the Director Medical Staff Services to ensure compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission Standards, and other regulatory requirements.
Resourcefulness, good judgment, self-sufficiency, and good organizational skills are required to prioritize and accomplish tasks.
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical staff services with duties that involved medical staff and allied health credentialing.
Managed care or other healthcare environment preferred.
Excellent computer skills especially Microsoft products (Word, Excel); data entry accuracy critical. Excellent/professional communication skills.
Strong time management, customer service, organization and analytical skills.
Education Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent experience bachelor’s degree preferred.
License/Certification Requirements
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred.
The New Jersey Pay Transparency Act requires disclosure of the pay range for this position.
A salary offer will vary based on the job role, candidate experience, qualifications, internal pay equity and market data.
