Short Description

ADVANCED PRACTICED PROVIDER (APP) - Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant – Part Time - Psychiatry – Voorhees, NJ

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is licensed, registered and has completed specialized graduate or doctoral education, and is nationally certified to provide health and medical care for diverse populations in a variety of settings.

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Responsibilities:


o Evaluate and treat non-teaching consult patients on med/surg floors and in ED – patients assigned in collaboration with psychiatry consultation-liaison (CL) team and CL attending
o Ongoing follow ups for non-teaching CL service patients
o Review patient list on CL team table rounds once each morning and once each afternoon
o Supervise APP students when assigned by APN psychiatry department lead
o Serve as liaison from the psychiatry CL team to primary teams at Cooper in working with psychiatry patients in med/surg and ED settings (e.g., attending interdisciplinary case conferences; multi- disciplinary team and family meetings; meeting individually with providers regarding shared patients)
o Collaborate and partner with CL attending in providing capacity building and education for non-psychiatry providers in working with psychiatry patients in med/surg and ED settings (e.g., developing trainings for non-psychiatry providers in verbal de-escalation of patients and other topics in managing psychiatric patients)

o Continuing education to include attending didactic sessions- Table Rounds with the CL/ED team each day and join didactic sessions for the CL/ED team


Experience Required

Prior experience providing psychiatric clinical services required, including diagnostic evaluations, pharmacotherapy, and psychotherapy.


Education Requirements

Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant


License/Certification Requirements

NJ-RN/APN License or NJ-PA and BLS certification


Special Requirements

Scheduled Days / Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; Part-time
