  • Retirement

    Cooper University Health Care offers a 403(b) retirement plan administered by Fidelity Investments that enables team members to save and plan for retirement through pre-tax and post-tax (Roth) contributions. All new team members of Cooper University Health Care will have 3% of compensation automatically deducted from their pay each payroll period and directed to their account at Fidelity Investments. Deferral percentages can be changed with Fidelity at any time, once enrolled. A match contribution of 50% of the team member’s contributions up to 5% of annual salary is available once eligible.

  • Medical/Dental

    Cooper’s medical plans are provided by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Each of the medical plans offers flexibility and freedom to use any Cooper or network provider in Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield’s PPO, Blue Card network. Each plan has a wide range of preferred providers and services that may have no out-of-pocket cost when using Cooper providers, depending on the plan chosen. Prescription drug coverage is included in each of Cooper’s medical plans. Dental benefits are provided through Delta Dental PPO plans and Sun Life DMO. Comprehensive vision coverage is offered through Eyemed.

  • Tuition Assistance

    Cooper University Health Care believes that ongoing education is important, both personally and professionally. Benefits eligible team members are able to take advantage of Tuition Assistance once 3 months of employment are completed. Cooper also provides annual assistance towards professional certifications and related organization memberships.

Short Description

In partnership with the Chief Nurse Executive, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) assumes a critical role in shaping the future of nursing practice within the organization. The CNO will provide leadership over nursing and patient care services operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient-centered care as well as a healthy work environment for team members.


The CNO will promote evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and continuous quality improvement across the continuum of patient care.  The CNO will demonstrate strong financial acumen to manage budgets effectively and optimize resource allocation.

The CNO will foster a culture of professional growth and development, and will support mentorship, coaching, and educational opportunities to enhance leadership skills and clinical competencies.

The CNO will foster a culture of accountability and compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and license regulations. In addition, the CNO will remain current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies The CNO will assist executive management in resolving operational issues and developing strategic plans for improved patient care/outcomes .The CNO will lead with confidence and promote interdisciplinary collaboration, also demonstrating exceptional communication

The CNO will promote an environment of care which recognizes and values differences in staff, interdisciplinary team members, patients and communities.


Experience Required

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience of senior level nursing leadership.
  • Exceptional communication, public speaking and performance improvement skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining working partnerships with physicians.
  • Computer Skills Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint; Database Management.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and short and long-range goal implementation.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated track record in fiscal responsibility.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and relevant regulations including Joint Commission (TJC), and Department of Health regulations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare management principles and practices.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide nursing staff effectively.
  • Experience advocating for Patients’ rights within a clinical setting.


Education Requirements

  • Master s degree required (MHA / MBA / MSN / MPH); Doctorate preferred (PhD or DNP)

License/Certification Requirements

  • Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of New Jersey Required
Hourly Rate Min $128
Hourly Rate Max $154

The New Jersey Pay Transparency Act requires disclosure of the pay range for this position.

A salary offer will vary based on the job role, candidate experience, qualifications, internal pay equity and market data.
