Retirement
Cooper University Health Care offers a 403(b) retirement plan administered by Fidelity Investments that enables team members to save and plan for retirement through pre-tax and post-tax (Roth) contributions. All new team members of Cooper University Health Care will have 3% of compensation automatically deducted from their pay each payroll period and directed to their account at Fidelity Investments. Deferral percentages can be changed with Fidelity at any time, once enrolled. A match contribution of 50% of the team member’s contributions up to 5% of annual salary is available once eligible.

Cooper’s medical plans are provided by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Each of the medical plans offers flexibility and freedom to use any Cooper or network provider in Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield’s PPO, Blue Card network. Each plan has a wide range of preferred providers and services that may have no out-of-pocket cost when using Cooper providers, depending on the plan chosen. Short Description
The professional flight nurse coordinator is responsible for the facilitation and coordination
of safe and comprehensive care to all patients in the pre-hospital setting and during
inter-facility transports by understanding and applying the specialized principles and
techniques of emergency rotor wing transport.
The flight nurse coordinator is the team leader for all patient transports and oversees the
performance of the flight paramedic.
The flight nurse will be engaged in procedure and policy development, performance
improvement activities, clinical competency activities and professional and community
outreach activities.
This position supports organizational goals by participating in safety oriented activities,
providing quality customer service, performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a
commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Experience Required
3-5 years critical care or emergency nursing experience.
Previous flight and/or transport experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Education Requirements
Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing.
BSN Preferred
License/Certification Requirements
- Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse required
- Must have one of the following on hire:
- NJ EMT certification or eligible for reciprocity
- NJ Paramedic
- NJ Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) certifications preferred
***If candidate does not possess NJ Paramedic or NJ MICN, NJ MICN must be obtained during specified orientation period (within 6 months of hire).
- CFRN, CCRN, CEN, TCRN, CTRN, or CPEN required
- If candidates does not possesses CFRN, it must be obtained within one year of date of hire
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications required
- ATCN required within 24 months of hire.
Current state issued driver's license required
Special Requirements
Must be physically able to work in all weather and environmental conditions, able to lift and move patients in all circumstance and perform all duties consistent with providing ALS and/or BLS in the pre-hospital or interfacility environment (air or ground).
