Responsible for medical/surgical and business office (stock and non-stock) supply ordering, receiving, tracking, stocking, and inventory control for the Surgery Center.
Performs daily rounds in Preop, OR, and PACU to check inventory par levels.
Coordinates ordering supplies using computer and accurate data entry skills and collaborates with Director and/or Clinical Manager regarding present/future budgetary guidelines and effective supply utilization.
Responsible for monitoring surgical instrument/equipment repair processes and interfaces with vendors to expedite repair returns and new equipment trials.
Provides excellent customer service, able to prioritize/multitask, and interacts well with all internal and external customers
Assists with ancillary tasks when needed.
Assists in obtaining a CDM number for all new supplies in order to insure prober charging.
Follows monthly budget allowance when ordering supplies on each line item.
Reports any special expenditure to the Director.
Oversees all equipment repairs and tracks progress of same.
Works with DME coordinator from Department of Orthopedics to assure needed DME equipment is available.
Keep track of backorders and finds substitutes if necessary.
Work with Director in evaluating monthly reports for to insure returned items have been
credited and point out any incorrect entries.
Plays a key role in the inventory process.
Enters data into excel spreadsheet that will be evaluated by Materials management, Director and Finance.
Added 2011: After EPIC go-live:
- Daily cycle count of inventory.
- Stock issue reporting to balance the inventory.
- Daily review of charges with the Voorhees biller to ensure all products have been
charged and billed appropriately.
- Daily schedule coordination with ACD re: upcoming cases and billing issues for items
brought in by representatives.
Scheduled Days / Hours: 4 Hour shifts 5 days a week; 2p-6p mon-fri
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Previous medical surgical/operating room supply materials management experience of at least
3years duration preferred.
Computer literacy, excellent customer service skills, and ability to execute independent action essential.
