Short Description

  • This Pre Post Op Nurse Coordinator is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
  • Will have the unique opportunity to assist in the development and operations of the Cooper Moorestown Multidisciplinary site.
  • This model focuses on the acute/immediate care needs in the Moorestown and surrounding areas.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and clinical skills are required.
  • Participates in cross training in other specialty areas.
  • Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement projects.
  • Responsible for the facilitation and coordination of safe and comprehensive care to all patients presenting to Moorestown Multidisciplinary sites.

Experience Required

  • 1 year RN required; 1-2 years of specialty experience in GI or IR
  • OR RN- must have completed Peri-Op 101 or possess at least 3 years’ experience

Education Requirements

  • BSN; Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing

License/Certification Requirements

  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
  • Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)1-2
  • Current NJ-ACLS (OR RN exempt)

Special Requirements

  • The Periop Nurse Coordinator requires critical thinking to consider factors related to patient safety, effectiveness, and cost in delivering care. 
  • Effective resource utilization by the Nurse Coordinator requires coordination with the Clinical Director to plan or change course of action for improved continuity of care and outcomes.
  • Requires expanded problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making at a supervisory level, including excellent communication skills and the ability to delegate effectively and supervise the work of other team members.
