Short Description

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit Flow Manager’s primary responsibility is to facilitate throughput through the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and OR Holding Area.  Potential candidates will be expected to:

  • They will appropriately delegate care to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit/OR Holding Teams and create patient assignments that promote balanced workloads and support patient safety.
  • Employ appropriate resources as needed to assure high quality and efficient care.
  • They will ensure the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and OR Holding Area at the direction of the Clinical Director.
  • This position assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality and cost-effective patient care.
  • They will assist the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of our customers and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction and implementation of patient care services within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and OR Holding Area at the direction of the Clinical Director in their absence.

Experience Required

A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing in critical care and preferably Post Anesthesia Care Unit, with 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.


Education Requirements

Graduate from NLN accredited school of nursing

Bachelor’s in Nursing 


License/Certification Requirements

NJ-RN:  Current New Jersey License 

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

CPAN or CCRN Certification preferred


Special Requirements

Scheduled Days / Hours: Full time days, six 12 hours days 7A-7P with one eight-hour day biweekly for a total of 80 hours.
