To function as a member of the Pediatric Endocrinology team providing diabetes education
and participating in the research done by the Division.
Provides teaching for youths with diabetes and their families during direct patient contact.
Provides teaching and management for youths with diabetes and their families via
Communicates with primary physicians and insurance companies, assisting in securing
prescriptions and supplies for proper care.
Communicates with and contributes to the diabetes education of other professionals
including physicians, students, nurses (inpatient, school, visiting) and the general
Participates in the care of youths with Pediatric Endocrine disorders other than diabetes.
Participates in the Quality Assurance process.
Assumes responsibility for own professional/ educational/personal growth.
Obtains or maintains CDE credentials.
Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
2 years of pediatric nursing experience, CDE preferred.
Demonstrated competence in clinical area, written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated competence in teaching children and their families.
Required License/Certifications/ Registration:
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
License (or Certification):NJ-RN Required; Education:BSN Preferred; Education:MSN Preferred
