Short Description
This position is responsible for overseeing the Cooper Enterprise Imaging system (VNA) to ensure systems architecture, design, and strategy meets and supports business, functional, and technology requirements. Ensures ease of maintenance, application performance, and compatibility with new and existing systems. Identifies and documents all integration points across the applications portfolio for new and existing systems. Provides technical direction and guidance to application teams when implementing new systems. Uses critical thinking in trouble-shooting, researching and solving technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
General
- Designs system architecture and strategy to meet business, functional, and technology requirements.
- Develops techniques to improve system performance and optimize hardware utilization.
- Ensures the integration of all aspects of software solutions including upstream, downstream, and surround systems.
- Provides resolutions and recommendations to leadership or analysts regarding all systems and solutions that affect clinical, revenue cycle, and business systems.
- Analyzes and resolves complex issues escalated by analysts or leadership.
- Provides technical knowledge as needed by analysts or leadership.
- Identifies policies and requirements that drive a specific solution.
- Work with analyst teams and stakeholders to build, test and maintain integration points across applications.
- Implements and follows internal Information Technology break/fix process and change management processes.
- Gather requirements, provide fit gap analysis and create effective technical solutions to support the needs of the business.
- Work with business users to identify and document current state and future state workflows for a given application or solution.
Scope, Purpose, and Frequency of Contacts:
Frequent interaction with IT staff and end-users, including health system staff, management, or physicians.
Experience Required
Responsible for enhancing, supporting, and maintaining applications within the Radiology and Cardiology suite of applications for the Cooper Health system.
Minimum experience of 7 years support in senior role supporting diagnostic imaging applications required, specifically as a VNA/PACS administrator or analyst. Experience supporting a VNA and Diagnostic Imaging hardware and software including: servers, workstations, storage platforms, DICOM Routers. Sectra and/or Change Healthcare preferred. Experience with Powerscribe and RIS workflows required. Epic Radiant experience is also preferred. Expert knowledge of DICOM, RIS, DICOM Modality Worklist, Voice Recognition applications, and HL7 required. Must have knowledge of workstation hardware, operating systems, server environments, and network architecture/protocols.
