Short Description:


The Advanced Practice Nurse assumes responsibility for advanced nursing practice within a clinical specialty. To provide, in collaboration with the neonatologists, inpatient care in the intensive care nursery.

In consultation with other members of the health care team, strengthens nursing practice and promotes positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include clinical practice, staff and patient education, and research.

The Advanced Practice Nurse serves as a significant member of the multidisciplinary health care team in the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

Special Requirements:


Scheduled Days / Hours: Full-time Neonatal rotating shifts.

Education:

Master’s degree in Nursing is required.

Experience:

Must have successfully completed the applicable American Nurses Credentialing Center ANCC

certification examination for Advanced Nurse Practitioners (APN-C).

Required License/Certifications/ Registration:

Must hold licensure/registration as required in the state of New Jersey.

current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Takes and/or maintains certification in area of specialty, certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS,AHA,BLS, NALS, PALS).

Other Qualifications:

Must have critical thinking and organizational skills as well as strong skills in oral and written communications.

Must be able to effectively work with multidisciplinary team, as well as with patients and their families.

Must be calm and focused in environment of multiple demands, and use good judgment in emergencies.

Intermediate knowledge of and experience in use of tech knowledge.
